- Raised height – The fountain spouts are raised higher than a typical fountain, usually 2 to 3 feet off the ground. This allows dogs to easily drink from them without having to crouch down.
- Multiple spouts – Many dog park fountains have 2 or more spouts at different heights—higher for larger breeds and lower to the ground for small dogs. Some fountains also have spouts at different angles.
- Automatic shut-off – Motion sensors or push buttons to control the water flow, allowing it to automatically shut off when not in use. This helps conserve water.
Costs for dog park water fountains range from $500 up to $1,000 or more for commercial-grade models, depending on the size, materials, number of spouts, and whether plumbed or not. Stainless steel, anti-vandal commercial fountains with multiple spouts, and a plumbed water supply will be on the higher end of the range. But for a small community dog park, a basic 2-spout self-contained fountain may be perfectly suitable and less than $800.
